Injury is a leading cause of
preventable morbidity and mortality, and is a principal cause of:
Death of males and females between
the ages of 1 and 44 years; and
Years of potential life lost before
the age of 65 years.
“Safe Communities” is an emerging international
"communities-based" movement whose purpose is to prevent injury and promote safety in
communities. The movement encompasses some 21 communities (with another 16 in
preparation) in a growing list of countries including Australia, Sweden,
Thailand, Canada, France, Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom, United States and
South Africa.
Couch & Associates Pty Ltd were engaged initially by the NSW Government to develop a model and business plan for arrangements to expand and sustain its "Safe Communities Program". We are now working with other promoters on the formation of a national Safe Communities Foundation.
The following login is intended to provide further information and allow consultation on the Foundation formation.
